Statement of Faith
These are the basic beliefs we hold conservatively as evangelical Christians with an interdenominational emphasis. In it you will find our basic view of the Scripture, God, Satan, Man, and Salvation.
The Holy Bible consisting of thirty-nine books in the Old Testament and twenty-seven books in the New Testament is complete and authoritative. It was written by divinely inspired men and is the record of God's revelation of Himself to man. It is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and daily living and is the standard by which all other teaching is measured.
There is one and only one true living God, who is eternally existent in three persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. This God is a divine mystery of one God revealed in three persons. God is omnipresent (present everywhere at all times), omniscient (all knowing and seeing), omnipotent (all powerful) and sovereign.
God as Father reigns with care over His universe, His creation, and history according to His purpose. God is Father in truth to those who become children of God through faith in Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God and is fully God. He was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, and completely human. He lived a sinless life and honored the divine law by His obedience and atoning death on the cross as the perfect complete sacrifice for sin. He was raised from the dead, appeared to many including His disciples, ascended into heaven, seated at the right hand of the Father where He is our advocate. He will return in power and glory to judge the world and gather the redeemed to Himself.
The Holy Bible is the Word of God. Through the holy men who were inspired to write the Scriptures. He enables us to understand truth and Scripture. He convicts men of sin, righteousness, and, calls men to the Savior, and effects regeneration. His presence in the Christian is the assurance of God's work to bring the believer into the fullness of Christ. He enlightens and empowers the believer and church in worship and service.
We believe in the existence of Satan, an angel who stood against and was cast out of heaven with his demons. It is Satan's desire and goal to destroy men by keeping them from a relationship with God and to take them with him to everlasting punishment. Satan tempts man to disobey God and harasses believers. Satan's fate has been established and recorded in Scripture, that he will be cast into the lake of fire for eternity with those whose names are not in the Book of Life.
We believe that man is
sinful and has fallen short of God's standard. Our sinful nature
prevents us from having a relationship with God except by the atoning
power of Jesus Christ. (Sin= separation from God)
We believe that salvation is freely offered to all who accept Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. Salvation involves the redemption of the whole man and includes regeneration, sanctification, and glorification.
Regeneration is the work of God's grace by which believers become new creations. It is the change of heart that is generated by the Holy Spirit through the conviction of sin. Individuals respond to the conviction with repentance by faith and accepts Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.
Sanctification is the experience by which the believer is set apart to God's purpose. Through the presence and power of the Holy Spirit, a believer grows spiritually and morally.
Glorification is the result of resurrection to Christ. It is the perfection that is provided by God in the when Christ returns.
