My hubby is a pilot, so we love to cruise the sky in our single-engine plane on gorgeous days. Since he is teaching me to fly, I had to learn to read the many gauges on the instrument panel. It is easy to stay on course when there is a gentle breeze, but some days I feel like a toy batted around the...Read Full Post »

I am sitting at my kitchen island right now, writing this blog post while my engineer-hubby is on a web-based conference call with his team. We’ve stocked up our groceries and other necessities while protecting ourselves from potential infection of the Coronavirus. In the meantime, I will be doing online Healthy ...Read Full Post »

Spring brings warmer temperatures with variable weather patterns. I've been feeling those variations lately with painful, inflamed joints. It is raining outside this morning, causing stiffness, pressure inside the joints of my hands and feet, and they are red and puffy. Making a fist is difficult. Walking barefoot is ouchy. Days like t...Read Full Post »

When I had my cardiac event, I learned a difficult lesson about caring for myself. This “heart attack” landed me in the hospital with troponin levels at 17, which is extremely high; I mistook a coronary artery spasm for an allergic reaction and used my Epi-pen. This spasm caused tightness in mythroat and difficulty breathing. To...Read Full Post »

If you remember from a previous post, my Boaz and I enjoyed putzing around Sanibel Island over Christmas break. We discovered an incredible placewhere I could eat nestled in the Bailey Shopping Plaza next to the bicycle rental store. They did an awesome job handling my food to avoid cross-contamination for this celiac and multi-allergy ...Read Full Post »

Here I sit writing this blog post, with my Apple watch nagging me to stand. I record my physical activity, food intake, heart rate, and more. Unfortunately, it also has a Mindfulness section. I want to change this to prayer and bible study, but Apple doesn't let us swap out these features. How did we get to this point?
I've been thinking ...Read Full Post »

My Boaz and I have been traveling around Florida over the Christmas to New Years while his work was on holiday shutdown. Walking, water exercise, and dancing kept us moving. Our meals were healthy and low calorie with plenty of fresh vegetables and fruit, especially the citrus fruit from my favorite citrus stor...Read Full Post »

I don’t know about you, but most Christmases start around Thanksgiving and finally end around Valentine’s Day. Why? Because we get hooked on hyperflavoring, fats, sweets, and salts. Our notion of veggies looks more like overly mushy green beans—very few of them—doing the backstroke in mushroom so...Read Full Post »
